I am an experienced copy editor, reporter and feature writer living in Tokyo, Japan. I have worked for the Independent, Independent on Sunday, Times, Sunday Times, Times Education Supplement, Times Higher Educational Supplement, Daily Yomiuri. My book about Japanese alcohol culture won second place in the travel category at the 2012 Gourmand Book Awards, the global food book prize, and several other prizes. I have published chapters in three books and am currently working on another non-fiction book about Japan with a well-known publisher.
